Parker are revamping the Monopoly board and looking for suggestions of Cities, Towns and Villages in the UK to appear on the new board. For over 70 years locations on the Monopoly board have been represented by London locations, now Parker are giving the nation their chance to feature on the famous game board. With enough passion and support even Dickleburgh can make it onto the game.
They have pre-selected a 66 towns and cities to vote for but other locations can make it onto the famous baord via a “WildCard” vote. With enough support we can attempt to get Dickleburgh onto the face of one of the worlds most famous games. I have already cast my vote for our village, if you would like join the campaign get over to Monopoly.co.uk now and cast your WildCard vote!
Instructions:
Please can I ask that you notify all that maybe interested in this campaign so we can get Dickleburgh on the “Board”. If you only vote once this year Vote Dickleburgh!
Details to be finalised contact Mick Logan on 01379 741535.

On Sunday 20th May, Carl Roe will lead us on our Country Walk along the newly restored Lonely Road footpath, ending up at the Crown, Dickleburgh, at 4.30-ish. This walk is open to everyone – all ages welcome. We meet at the village sign at 1.45pm, ready to leave at 2.00pm.
Lonely Road has quite a history. It was first shown on Fodens map of 1797 as a route from Dickleburgh Moor to Rushall. Before WWI the Pulham Air Station was at the Rushall end of the road and at that time the station came under the Admiralty as there was no Air Force then. Because of the airships it had to be closed to the public for security reasons, however, after WW1 it was partly open, but then, with WWII starting, it had to be closed again and remained closed until Norfolk Council put in an application to reopen it as a footpath/bridle way. The first hearing was in 2004 and it finally opened for use at the beginning of this year.
Come and join us to discover this new pathway.
Also, make a note in your diaries for our next big event, which takes place on Saturday 21st July, 1.30pm – 4.00pm, when we will stage the Horticultural Show, including flowers, fruit and vegetables, bakery, handicrafts and a children’s section. Schedules and details will be available nearer the time – watch this space!
