Wind Turbine Alert for Dickleburgh Public Exhibition 12th June 2008 in Tivetshall

Filed under: Village News, Wind Farm News — Nigel @ 2:38 pm

I’m sure you know that parts of Dickleburgh will be significantly affected by the “Tivetshall” wind turbines if the Enertrag proposal goes ahead.  It is not just a Tivetshall issue!

Enertrag are holding a public exhibition on Thursday, 12th June 2008 at the Tivetshall Village Hall.  Representatives of Enertrag will be in attendance to answer questions.  It is important that the strength of feeling against this ridiculous proposal is shown to Enertrag and South Norfolk District Council. So, unless you are completely happy with the thought of having 6 x 125metre high monster wind turbines overhanging your village and surrounding areas for the next 25 years+, my suggestion is that you make your views known by attending and speaking out!

I know that the exhibition runs until 8:00p.m. I do not know the precise start time but do know that it will be open at 3:00p.m., possibly earlier.  Keep your eyes open for signs, brochures etc.  If you wish to make sure,  you can ring Enertrag (at Diss) on 01379 642564.

Cycle Track Opened In Dickleburgh

Filed under: Village News — sean @ 8:06 am

A new Cycle Track was opened on the Dickleburgh Playing Fields, just off Harvey Lane in Dickleburgh at 2.00pm on Sunday 13TH April.
Cycle Track
Planned, and executed by Dickleburgh & Rushall Parish Council with support and financial input by South Norfolk Council and local businesses, the creation of the track that requires strong adherence to Health & Safety requirements was undertaken primarily by Cllr Hill.

Part of the initiative of the Parish Council to provide facilities for the youth and children of the Village, that includes the imminent employment of a full time Youth Officer to organize events and more facilities, and the provision of a shelter as a meeting place for the youth, this track is an outstanding monument to this cause in as much as it cannot be missed with its outline of red and white painted tyre barriers.

With an introduction by Chairman of the Parish Council, Terry Clarkson, who outlined the range of projects in hand, the official opening was made by Michael Harrowven, a Director of Saffron Housing whom had made a significant contribution to the project, a resident of Dickleburgh and previously Chairman of the Parish Council!

The tape having been cut the youngsters sped round on their cycles illustrating just how good the track is.

Dickleburgh & Rushall Parish Council Meeting Held On 6th March 2008

Filed under: Village News, Parish Council — sean @ 12:15 am

(Note: These are not official minutes)

PRESENT:    Cllrs Clarkson (In the Chair) Cllrs Adlam, Baker, Davy, Hill, Leeder, Logan, and Roe.
District Councillor, Martin Wilby was also present

The meeting was also attended by Police Constable Jim Squires to discuss the provision of a youth shelter by the Parish Council. He also invited three local youths into the meeting in order to express their views on the matter. They were warmly welcomed by the Chairman. Their attendance was coincidental with Cllr. Adlam about to give a slide presentation about the development and planning of the 6-Vill project, so they had the opportunity to observe the efforts being made by the Parish Council to provide facilities for the youth of the village. The company is now formed and the recruitment process will begin, along with liaison with those who have previously been involved in youth activities to discuss how we can assist them. Half the year’s money is now provided.
Further discussion on the provision of the youth shelter covered aspects of the nature of the structure, its location and methods of funding.

The Police Officer and Youths left the meeting to make way for Judy Ingram, an operations officer of the FIRST RESPONSE Service, who updated the meeting on the services already provided in the district and the need to recruit more “First Responders” in the area. It was suggested that the service might take a stall at the village May Fayre and details should be placed into the Parish News. Further information on this is attached to the back of this report.
